There are wedding days that feel beautiful because of the setting, and then there are wedding days that feel beautiful because of the people.

This Finest Punta Cana wedding was both.

Surrounded by the tropical beauty of the Dominican Republic, these two brides celebrated their love in a way that felt joyful, intimate, romantic, and completely their own. From the quiet anticipation at the beginning of the day to the emotion of the ceremony and the celebration that followed, there were so many little moments worth remembering.

And that is always what I hope to preserve through my photographs—not simply what a wedding looked like, but what it felt like to be there.

Getting Ready at Finest Punta Cana

The beginning of a wedding day always has its own energy.

There are the final touches, dresses waiting to be worn, flowers arriving, friends and family coming in and out of the room, and that mixture of excitement and anticipation that happens when months of planning suddenly become real.

For both brides, getting ready was also an opportunity to capture individual portraits and all the smaller details that helped tell the story of their day.

These are often some of the photographs that become even more meaningful later—the details, expressions, hugs, laughter, and quiet moments that happened before everyone came together for the ceremony.

Two Brides, One Beautiful Love Story

Every couple deserves wedding photographs that feel like them.

Their connection should be at the center of everything.

Photographing two brides also gives me the opportunity to capture the individuality of each woman—their style, personality, emotions, and experience of the day—while ultimately bringing those two stories together.

There can be softness and elegance.

There can be laughter and movement.

There can be editorial portraits and completely unplanned moments.

There can be quiet intimacy followed five minutes later by pure celebration.

Love has its own language, and every couple tells it differently.

A Destination Wedding at Finest Punta Cana

Finest Punta Cana provides a beautiful Caribbean setting for couples dreaming about getting married in the Dominican Republic.

The tropical surroundings, palm trees, archite, gardens, and proximity to the ocean give us plenty of variety throughout a wedding day. Instead of every photograph having the same background, we can create a gallery that moves naturally from getting-ready photographs to the ceremony, portraits, golden-hour light, and eventually the celebration.

That's one of the things I love most about photographing destination weddings in Punta Cana.

You have the elegance of a wedding celebration combined with that unmistakable feeling of being somewhere tropical.

The Ceremony: The Moment Everything Becomes Real

No matter how much planning goes into a destination wedding, there is always a moment during the ceremony when everything else seems to disappear.

The timeline doesn't matter.

The décor doesn't matter.

The camera doesn't matter.

For a few minutes, it is simply two people standing in front of each other and choosing one another.

Those are the photographs I am always watching for.

A hand being squeezed a little tighter.

The expression on someone's face during the vows.

A tear that wasn't expected.

Family members reacting in the background.

That first look after realizing, we're married.

These tiny moments happen incredibly quickly, but they often become some of the most meaningful photographs in the entire wedding gallery.

After the ceremony comes one of my favorite parts of the day: giving my couples a little space to simply be together.

Wedding portraits don't need to feel like a long list of poses.

I prefer to create movement and give gentle direction so that couples can interact naturally. We might walk, talk, laugh, hold each other, or simply take a minute away from everyone else.

I'll guide you when you need guidance—where to place your hands, how to move, where the light is most flattering—but I never want you to feel as though you're performing for the camera.

The goal is for the photographs to look beautiful and still feel like you.

Especially with two brides, I love creating a balance between editorial portraits that showcase each bride individually and photographs that focus completely on their connection together.

A Moment Just for the Two of Them

Wedding days move incredibly quickly.

Between getting ready, the ceremony, family photographs, congratulations, and celebrating with everyone they love, couples rarely have a moment to simply stop and take everything in.

Their portrait time gave them exactly that.

A chance to walk away from the excitement for a little while, laugh together, hold each other close, and finally have that moment of realizing:

We actually did it.

Rather than turning this part of the day into a long list of poses, I wanted them to simply enjoy being together. I offered gentle direction when needed, but left plenty of space for movement, laughter, quiet embraces, and all those little interactions that naturally happen between two people who know each other so well.

Those are always some of my favorite photographs from a wedding day.

Not because everything is perfectly posed, but because they feel like the couple themselves.

Celebrating at Finest Punta Cana

And then it was time to celebrate.

Once the formalities of the day were over, the atmosphere completely shifted.

The reception is where I step back even more and allow moments to happen naturally—conversations between guests, hugs, speeches, dancing, laughter, and all the unexpected interactions that make every wedding different.

Those photographs complete the story.

Because a wedding gallery shouldn't only contain beautiful portraits of the couple.

It should remind you of the people who traveled to Punta Cana to celebrate with you and what it actually felt like to have everyone together in one place.

Planning a Destination Wedding at Finest Punta Cana

If you're considering Finest Punta Cana for your wedding, photography coverage can be planned around the experience you want to have rather than trying to fit your day into a predetermined schedule.

Before every wedding, I work with my couples to understand the ceremony time, getting-ready plans, family photographs, reception events, and the moments that matter most to them.

From there, we can build a photography timeline that allows enough time to document everything without making the wedding day feel rushed.

For couples planning a same-sex wedding in Punta Cana, an LGBTQ+ destination wedding, or simply searching for inspiration from a real wedding at Finest Punta Cana, I hope this celebration gives you a little glimpse of what your own wedding experience here could look like.

What I loved most about this wedding wasn't one particular portrait or detail.

It was the complete story.

The anticipation before the ceremony.

The emotions when they saw each other.

The people surrounding them.

The quiet moments together.

And the celebration afterward.

That's ultimately what I want a wedding gallery to become: something that allows you to experience your day again—not only the way it looked, but the moments you might have missed while you were living it.
